Friends Who Write, Triad of SensAI GPTs, Survey Results and more

Newsication #013

Welcome, writer fam, to Newsication #013. It's been a busy couple of weeks here, with JD beta launching his Triad of SensAI GPTs for writers. David and JD have entered season 2 of the Friends Who Write competition. Bigger and more prizes this season, registrations close on 14th March. That's right, today — there’s still time to get involved. Not to mention Andrew, who's pumping out his various Subtacks and going camping. I've been particularly interested in his writing about the Polymath Movement.

Our survey on AI and Writing will continue to collect data for longer. We recently published The Role of AI in Writing calling for more contributions.

The survey results, so far, indicate a notable familiarity and engagement with AI technologies among writers, with a majority utilising AI tools in their creative processes, particularly for drafting, editing, and idea generation. Despite this integration, there is a significant concern over the potential for AI to undermine originality and creativity, alongside ethical worries regarding data use, misinformation, and intellectual property rights.

There is a clear call for transparency and ethical guidelines in using AI within writing, reflecting anxieties about reliability and the maintenance of professional integrity. Furthermore, the community shows a strong interest in educational initiatives aimed at navigating the ethical and effective application of AI in writing, highlighting an eagerness to adapt to technological advancements while addressing their inherent challenges.

We are also on Medium, Substack and Zirkels. Whatever platform you read this on, if you have a question, a suggestion, or feedback. Please do reach out. Your Communities

Here are your two communities for Writers Without Walls. We’ve crafted these spaces with you in mind, each serving a unique purpose.

Writers Without Walls on Entre — Our Entre community is a hybrid setup that bridges the familiar Web2 and the emerging Web3. It’s a haven for all writers, regardless of their interest or experience in Web3. Whether you’re curious about protecting your identity, securing your finances, or safeguarding your tech, Entre is your safe place to explore. Entre empowers individuals and companies to easily connect and work with the people and resources they need to succeed in the digital world

Writer Without Walls on Common Ground — On the other hand, our CommonGround community is more Web3-focused. While it won’t be exclusively about Web3, it will have a strong Web3 orientation, which may be overwhelming for some. But it is a space where you can dive deeper, explore further, and immerse yourself in the Web3 realm.
